...a message from the Director of Boarding

Welcome to PLC Sydney Boarding. My name is Pauline Turner and it’s my absolute privilege to lead our Boarding community.

Working with such an engaging group of young women is a rewarding and uplifting experience for all my team. Together, with our families, we work to ensure the best possible care is provided to every individual student, so she is able to flourish.

Life as a boarder will enliven students, as they learn and embrace a new way of living together with other young women from a vast array of backgrounds and life experiences. Conversations shared over the dinner table will challenge individuals and broaden horizons as they share their lives, thoughts and beliefs with one another. Skills will be developed and honed, as the life of a boarding student is a journey of education and personal growth.

The special areas that bond boarding students are found in the shared experiences. The routines, the vocabulary, Prep, Leave, lights out, a common language that cements friendships.

Ms Pauline Turner

We offer boarding places for Senior students from Years 7 to 12. The Boarding house can accommodate up to 58 rural and indigenous students.

Learning to manage daily life in a community, managing the school timetable, organizing individual living spaces, doing washing, ironing, preparing for the school day, balancing co-curricular activities with academic study, being on time for activities before and after school, learning to communicate information effectively with parents, correctly applying for leave, are just a few of the life skills that every boarder will develop during her time at the House. At the end of a busy day, you’ll drop into bed, ready for a laugh and a chat together with your roommate before lights out.

My hope for each boarding girl is that she will embrace and engage fully in the wonderful life available to all boarders at PLC Sydney. Treasuring the moments of celebration and achievement as she builds the social and community skills needed to become a successful member of society, unpinned by a network of support from family, school and the entire boarding community.

We offer boarding places for Senior students from Years 7 to 12. The Boarding House is situated at the heart of the College, giving you easy access to classes and co-curricular activities. It’s a great place to grow up and the girls love it!

I look forward to meeting with you when you visit PLC Sydney. Until then please take the time to watch our Virtual tours of the College and Boarding House.
