Performing in our dedicated state-of-the-art performing arts venue — the McKeith Performing Arts Centre. Theatresports, musical productions and Drama clubs are just some of the ways our girls explore their interest in Drama.

...a little bit of magic

At any time throughout the year, rehearsals will underway for the next highly anticipated Drama production.

A highlight of our performance calendar is our annual Speech Day in December where several music ensembles perform on the stage of the Sydney Opera House.

In our 538-seat theatre, young thespians might be rehearsing Shakespeare, performing a new Australian play, kicking up their heels in a big Broadway musical or flexing their creative muscle to compete in improv events such as the Carlton and Inner West Cups, All Girls Shield and Impro Australia, against some of Australia’s rising young stars.

Our productions require commitment and enthusiasm. They foster effective teamwork and build collaboration, whether the girls are performing on stage or as part of the stage and technical crew, and of course our own talented musicians provide the instrumental support as needed.

Drama options include stagecraft and dramatic performance skills, where girls work with skilled mentors and experts in their fields, entering competitions and performing in our dedicated state-of-the-art performing arts venue—the McKeith Performing Arts Centre—that houses the Audrey Keown Theatre. Theatresports, musical productions and Drama clubs are just some of the ways our girls explore their interest in Drama.

Some of the wonderful musical productions that have been produced over the past few years include:

  • Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical
  • Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • High School Musical
  • Into the Woods
  • Les Miserables
