We are proud of our 2024 cohort. We celebrate the hard work of each student and congratulate them on their excellent HSC results. Well done girls!

2024 Highlights & Achievements

PLC Sydney consistently ranks in the top independent girls’ schools in Sydney. Our girls achieve at the highest level across their academic, sporting and artistic endeavours, even as a non selective school.

Watching the girls in my year group lend a helping hand to one another, no matter what it was, and creating a family-like atmosphere where everyone felt valued was so important. I learnt that when everyone works together, we achieve much greater results than if we try to compete with one another.

Alexandra Kralj, Class of 2024

    • Zoe Kopczyk

      OnSTAGE: Individual Drama Project

Costume Design Stories in the Dark

This is an excerpt from Koe's directorial vision statement:

Deborah Oswald’s play Stories In The Dark examines how stories can be used as a means of escape, and a vessel through which we can cultivate connection. Despite the brief moments of respite the two central characters; Anna and Tomas, receive from sharing folktales, they can never truly escape the reality of war. I reflected this in my designs by including heightened military elements in the costumes of the folklore characters that tether the escapist fantasy to the bleak reality of war.

    • Hui Qi (Vicky) Lei

      ARTEXPRESS

Vicky's visual arts Body of Works called 'Shutdown until Further Notice' will be part of the 2024 HSC ARTEXPRESS Showcase season. Her paintings were inspired by the energetic buzz of Chinese wet markets. These cultural environments are complex and, when you look closely, you can see the beauty in the often overlooked every day, revealing the necessity and significance of wet markets in China’s informal economy and are essential cultural institutions that embody social interactions, culinary traditions, and economic activities.

    • Sarah McPhail

      ARTEXPRESS

Sarah McPhail painting, 'Slowburn of Simulacrum; Ornamentation and Divinity' was selected for inclusion in 2024 HSC ARTEXPRESS Showcase Exhibition. “What becomes of the divinity when it reveals itself in icons, when it is multiplied in simulacra?” - Jean Baudrillard

Sarah's Body of Work explores how sacred objects of devotion lose their meaning and decay in a post-modern age. Within Sarah's practice, she has chosen a classical still life representation as it embodies the cultural history of objects. Inspired by religious iconography from the Renaissance period, and recontextualising through a postmodern lens, her work seeks to disrupt and dismantle the hyper-reality of ornamentation and instead offer a rebirth of divinity.

Year 12 students nominated for exhibitions and showcases.
